Estimate Raw Water Salinity for the Tigris River for a Long Time Using a Mathematical Model

Abstract The measurement data of the raw water quality Tigris River were statistically analyzed to measure salinity value in relation selected parameters. collected from five treatment plants (WTPs) assembled alongside Baghdad: Al-Karkh, Al-Karama, Al-Qadisiya, Al-Dora, and Al-Wihda for period 2015 2021. parameters are total dissolved solid (TDS), electrical conductivity (EC), pH temperature. main objective this research is predicate a mathematical model using SPSS software calculate along river, addition, effect on was estimated. Multiple linear regression (MLR) artificial neural network (ANN) models used estimate calculating present highest effective parameter that salinity. In general, results showed an increase level downstream towards south Baghdad EC most significant salinity, MLR ANN analyses good indication with coefficient correlation (R 2 ) as (0.999 0.998), respectively. equations proved performance predicting error percentage less than 10% all WTPs.
